Florida Teen Driving Ford Mustang GT at 154 MPH Caught by Police in Their Own Mustang GT
The driver was spotted weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds, authorities say, before the Florida Highway Patrol pulled him over in their own muscle car.
Ford Mustang drivers around the country seem to be turning high-speed traffic tickets into a competitive event these days. Just last week, a Mustang GT was impounded after authorities say they clocked at 139 miles per hour. Now, according to a report from CBS 10 Tampa, a Florida teen has been arrested after driving his Mustang GT 154 miles per hour on a Florida highway.
The incident took place around 1:30 am on Sunday, January 4th, when a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper on Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County spotted a Mustang GT speeding at an estimated 95 miles per hour. The roads were wet at the time, and the Mustang was passing other cars and changing lanes without signaling, according to the police.
When the trooper got behind the Mustang, however, authorities say the driver floored it, eventually reaching speeds of 154 miles per hour …
