The fastest and most expensive factory Ford Mustang ever is a thrill ride on track but impressively civilized on the street.

Back when the automotive world made sense, it was easy to categorize every continent's talents. In Europe, the Italians had mid-engine exotics wired. High-performance sedans? Shop the Germans. Or if you wanted to drive a Georgian palace, Britain had your answers. Asia has always done high-value family cars really well. And North America? Well, we had pickup trucks and hot rods mastered.

Much has got changed across the global car industry in recent years, but we still make the best hot rods. Ford's 2025 Mustang GTD is a serious performance car with a very serious price tag. But it's also a pure hot rod, an American-Canadian coproduction with a transmission filled with Mexican gears. It's the best of NAFTA with a supercharged evil-Chucky 815-hp V-8.
