2026 Ford Mustang RTR EcoBoost Borrows Anti-Lag System from Ford GT

The Ford Mustang is an enduring example of the American performance car at its fullest. The revised S650-generation Mustang has brought a new Dark Horse nameplate, fresh performance engineering, and a very competitive Nürburgring lap time courtesy of Multimatic's GTD rendition, but Ford wants to make sure that a younger generation of enthusiasts doesn't get left out of the muscle car fun, either.

That's why Ford teamed up with Formula Drift legend Vaughn Gittin Jr. and his Ready-to-Rock (RTR) performance tuning brand to turn its most affordable Mustang, the EcoBoost model, up a few notches. This isn't just a visuals package, either, as the Dearborn-based automaker pulled the cover off its Mustang RTR EcoBoost in January.
