Ford Now Sells More Mustangs Overseas Than At Home

Ford Now Sells More Mustangs Overseas Than At Home

The iconic Mustang is currently Ford’s only passenger car on sale in the United States, as the Blue Oval made a strategic decision in 2022 to focus on trucks, SUVs and commercial vehicles in North America.

Despite the kudos it brings to the brand and the fact that it pretty much ran out of rivals in recent years after the Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger were discontinued, the current seventh-generation Mustang is not doing as well as it should in its home market.

Ford sold 23,551 Mustangs in the first half of 2025 in the U.S., a 14.2% drop compared to the same period a year ago. There’s no need to sound the alarms, though. The Mustang, as you probably know, is a global car, and overseas sales exceed U.S. sales
